RED

Went to a very early screening of Red last Tuesday night. I admit I read a few of the reviews that were floating around on the net prior to going and what I read wasn’t that favorable. My friend thought that certain special effects were not done yet in the screening that we saw and I’m going to have to agree with him, I just do not have the same attention to detail as he does. I did think a couple of things slightly odd, like x marks on the front window of the police car. But I thought maybe in that city cops drove around with little marks all over front windshield. I didn’t know!

Like a good portion of movies lately, this movie came from a comic book. I know, big surprise. Yet another comic book. But it really wasn’t as bad as i had anticipated. Jokes could of been a bit punchier, but I actually enjoyed the cast very much and thought it worked well. Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, John C. Reilly and Mary Louise Parker were the key players of this movie. Couple of the action shots were quite impressive. The best one is in the trailer with Bruce Willis shooting and the cop car spinning. Who doesn’t think that isn’t just the coolest thing!?!?

Not as much action as The Expendables, but more of a story than The Expendables.
