Sunday Movies and Test

This post is partially being done so I can check if I have fixed Wordbooker. Usually when I post it automagically sends a post to my Twitter and Facebook. Mostly just as a courtesy for my non-RSS readers. Last couple of posts I noticed the Facebook portion was broken (yet again). Now on to the meat of the post, which is about the last couple of movies I’ve seen.

Love in Space
I’m hoping this is just a poor translation of the title of the movie. Only 1/4 of the movie had to do with Space, and it was so poorly done that it should not be the part that is focused on. Please ignore the lack of realism of what life is like in space when you watch this movie!!!

Love in Space is about a widowed mother and her three very different daughters and how they all find love. That is really the movie in a nutshell.

As with a good portion of Asian Romantic-Comedies “cheese” and “melodrama” go hand in hand. Be prepared for an unusually high dose of both in this movie. It is so sickly sweet that you may start gagging from the thick syrupy lovey dovey moments. This movie is canned squeeze cheese left out in asphalt in 100+ weather, that is how cheesy and goofy it is.

Maybe it caught me at a soft heart time though. I did tear even though I cringed in terror to show such emotion for such an idiotic movie. I did hear sniffling from a couple of people in the theater also. There were only 5 of us. I did laugh out loud on occasion which is extremely noticeable in an empty theater.

To simply put, this movie was just good clean fun. No sex, no explosions, just wholesome entertainment that can be seen by anyone. A rarity nowadays. Except for the occasional suicidal thought from the sickly sweetness and dumbness that flowed out of the movie in tidal wave proportions. I still can’t believe I enjoyed as much as I did.

The Help
Only thing that was missing from The Help was Oprah Winfrey. Definitely a solid movie and story, but the story does seem fairly Hollywood glazed.
